Raimie

Hemp spread through Central Asia  thousands of years ago. China's  principal fiber also was hemp including gut and sinew from deer.  Much later a bast fiber : ramie: was introduced from south. And too, much later  the use cotton.  Hemp also travelled to Switzerland and Germany via trade routes.  Have you ever noticed your fabric labels say 50% cotton and %0% ramie.  All this time I thought ramie was cotton:  Surprised???
